~~~ My Strange Family~~~
It all started when Mr. Benjie Tanjay and Ms. Marly Pepito met in a romantic place which leads them to their destined fate. And then they fall in love with each other. And now, meet their born products, me and my little brother.
First of all, I am Queenie Lee P. Tanjay and I’m here to share my family’s background. You may know me already because you may have read previous entry last week and maybe now is the time to expose my family to public (hehehe)
First in the list is my father. He is Mr. Benjie Tanjay. He was born on the first day of November in the year of nineteen- seventy three. He is a current business man. I could that this man is a very tough man and especially a very industrious man. He’s the one who fetch us everyday in school. Unlike the other families, the father is the one who stands or what do they call “the bread winner of the entire family” but this family is very different. Instead, the mother is the one who works for the whole family. And of course, I’m very proud of my parents. For me, he’s a perfect blessing that God gave to me.
Then, meet my mother. She was born with the name Marly Pepito which later named as Mrs. Marly Tanjay when she met and married my father. She was born at the twenty-fourth day of December in the same year when my father was born. Right now, she employ as a Marketing Assistant. This occupation let our family stand through every struggle we pass. This served as the only key in order for us to eat three times a day and live longer. She is a very diligent and a wise woman. Honestly, she is a fashionable woman who is always updated to every fashion wear is currently made. I sometimes don’t like her when she convinces me of what I should wear whenever I go to a walk which I sometime disagree. For me, she’s another blissful angel which came into my life.
Next is my petite brother. His name is Mr. Vince Ian Tanjay or should I call him “Miss” (hehehe joke only!). He was born in the twenty-second day of July. Right now, he is in his 5th year of his elementary grades. He is a shy guy to all people who doesn’t know him so much. But for those who knew him for a long time, BEWARE!!!! He might bite when he is so much hungry. He is planning to take the entrance test in UP when he happen to graduated in his grade school years. I would always pray that he could make it to the top and make in my current school. I would sure be very happy for him and for myself because I have already a companion when I go home very late. He is also taking the exam with my cousin hopefully when they graduate.
Bonding with my family could be a really worthwhile thing that may lead to a tight relationship. Usually, we go to church every Sunday together. Also, in our birthdates, I really noticed the important events that happened on that very day. First is on my father’s natal day: November 1, a day for the All Saints’ Day. Next is my mom’s birthday: December 24, the Christmas’ Eve’s Day. Then, my brother’s: July 22, the same day when Apolinario Mabini was born and mine: July 11, the same day also when Pio Del Pilar was born. Get to know us more when you happen to meet us. Not actually together but each only one of us.
WHAT A CUTE FAMILY!!!!
~~~What if I'm Blind?~~~

What will you do if you were meant to live alone in the vast darkness? Would you like to stay and step in longer to your living world? I wonder why God created blind persons. Why did they have to suffer for the strange things they unlikely want to happen? Well, only a persuasive man knows all my doubts about this topic.

A blind person: a deficient man and an unanswerable man who doesn’t know everything of what is happening around his environment. Simply, I’d like to ask this, if you were born to live as a blind person, would you believe that there could be still a hope for most people like you? Running always into my mind of what things will I wonder about if I don’t know or even couldn’t see even a glimpse of what life really is. One time, a man asked me if what will I do if I don’t appreciate and understand what is truly happening around me. Merely, I answered that all the things that God gave to me or even the small ones, are gifts which He wants for us to use for helping and serving poor people or in short, I replied, “then?, surely, it’s a gift from God!” I believed that everything that He gives to us everyday are definitely has different significant purposes to easily enjoy the life of living. Life could be so short. But God said even how short that thing is, you should learn how to appreciate it because this could bring you into a real thing. Now, back to the topic, personally, I would probably serve continuously God and of course!! ENJOY LIFE!!. What then if I don’t see anything? I have my other senses in living still in this existing world of mine. I could have friends who are always right at the back on me and are always there for me when I needed them. I could also have my reliable parents who are ready to take responsible for me. They are the kind of persons who really are ready for you to depend and you could always count on them.

Living in a dark world is not an easy way to enjoy your living. You can’t see what the others can see. You can’t see the amazing things they are now looking at. But there is a good news now! There are already schools for this persons. But still, many blind persons can’t afford the schooling. Nowadays, many blind persons are living on streets usually, not in their homes. I really pity on those beings. Many of them used to prefer to live in streets believing that they could earn money in begging money from the people who happen to pass by there. But NO! I would still prefer to take them to some manageable departments which could take care of them than for themselves. I remembered when I was still an elementary student when we decided to have a group who could help street children or even old women. We decided to put P2.00 everyday we have time for contributing. Fortunately, many participated in the said “foundation”. We were so happy that time. Luckily, the movement was successful. Through the earned money, we bought bread and juice for every street children and women we met. But this didn’t stay longer because our closing was yet to be very near. But still, I enjoyed my last quarter of my life being a grade school student.

A Love Affair with MV Doulos and Books...

Last February, a floating book fair went to Cebu wherein a lot of books could be found and sold there and you know what? It was the gigantic MV Doulos! But let me ask you this, have you heard about a floating book fair? Well, if you have none, let me tell you about my experience about the giant ship and this experience will really enlighten you a lot about the only world’s floating book fair, the MV Doulos.
MV Doulos was said to be two years younger than the mysterious, Titanic ship. See! Even the introduction one can quickly open your imaginations to the floating book fair. It was said to be the world’s only floating book fair. What's more of this book fair was it’s secret paradise inside and in addition, I was really amazed when I saw the bliss of the old ship and you know what? It’s a book fair! “A floating book fair, that’s kind of weird!” that’s was the first thing that came swiftly into my mind when I heard about it. But that thought rapidly came out into my mind when I personally saw the MV Doulos.
February 13, 2007: a grand day to commit into my memory. This day, we went to the MV Doulos. In the previous day, we were actually very excited about the trip or journey to the floating book fair. We were required to wear our Intrams T-shirt so that we would not be probably late in taking the ride towards the said ship. Just then the lunch break has arrived; you can already see the enthusiasm of the group. Everyone was so diligent in cleaning themselves and making them neat as they could. We used a jeepney in bringing ourselves to MV Doulos. Inside, we never had the chance to talk frankly because our Soc Sci teacher was with us. But when she said that we could promptly talk and communicate with ourselves, we began chat and chatting but when we reach the ship, there’s the time were we should use our time picking and reading interesting books.
Honestly, my only purpose in going to the Doulos was to see the charming sights that surround the ship but at least I have the time to see fascinating topics of some books. We all were much challenged when the time came when we happened to went out outside the book fair: that was only for me to eat snacks outdoor. But when we knew that we could enter again, I was really disappointed to myself. We find ways to get way inside the fair. And Yes! We did it. Hurray!!!
After seeing or even reading the books, a program was held in the ship. There, we saw another school which was the Asian Learning Center. The program was composed of mini games which really faced up the two gigantic schools. But I think, we resulted better than the opposite school. We also watched short films which really tackled a lot on the world’s faith about GOD. For me, the valuable lesson in the program was that even though we came from different races and places, God has always a communication with everyone in the living world. After then, I could say that that experience was really meaningful to me.

@#!%$^_^ "THe UPSTAGE SOciEty" @#!%$^_^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Reigning still behind this picture above is one of my happiest moments with my group mates together only in a reminiscing faction in my high school life, the appealing UPSTAGE team. We’ll everybody knows what UPSTAGE does for purposes. Jamming dances, romantic songs, boosting acting or even developing good companionships are just one of the best of the best portions that whom they call, the “UPSTAGERS” managed to do whenever they execute valuable things.
As such, in the reality state now in my first year in my high school life, UPSTAGE has been a very stunning and a very favorable element in my life as such because I’m an UPSTAGE member. In my memorable years in UP, I’ve still remembered when I prefer to join the club. An audition was held that time to expose and picture the real talents of the UPIANS. And I was really lucky and fortunate enough that I was one of the chosen ones. But behind that participation, honestly, I was not truly mean to the group but when I started to know and understand it well, I learned already to develop and portrait my real talents.
University of the Philippines Students Theater Arts Guild for Education or better known of its famous acronym, the UPSTAGE assembly was acknowledged by their talented, artistic and endowed members. For me, it all started when the team was assigned to give numbers for important program held in the school. The program was about the induction of officers of the school in each section they represent. Parents and teachers are there to watch and view their children and students that one should be proud of. It was the first ever performance that I did as an UPSTAGE member which actually challenged me at first. In fact, I was too worried of the reactions of the people and definitely, what they are going to say. I just tried to calm myself and tried to cool it off. And perfect! The show was very successful and through this experience that not only wisdom can make your life be in progressed but also don’t forget your skills and talents that you should be proud of. We must be diligent in taking the things we desire. And that’s the true meaning of the works of UPSTAGE.
Right now, we have a very patient an outstanding mentor. We prefer to call him, Kuya Chammy. He is actually a loving and a caring guy for his pupils. And one what could be proud of being a professional in dancing well, especially in ethnic and allegorical dancing. He is now very popular of being one of the producers of the famous “Sulog Sa Gugma” which was shown in a cinema in the SM mall. He was known also of being artistic in applying decorations for the dancers. But when he gets irritated to us, he could probably as violent as we do unexpected. So, we started taking seriously the things we want to do well. Recently, we performed an allegorical dance in an offering for the Saint John’s Academy in Guam as a thanksgiving welcome party of an old Music teacher in UP. We were really nervous for the incoming performance. But when we stepped on the hot summer stage, we realized what our proctors asked for the good of the school. And well, another job well- accomplished.

$#@%!^_^My Friends!!$#@%!^_^

For a long time, I've wondered about the meaning of the word "friend." I never been able to answer questions such as, I am now in doubt in answering the question, “Who is the true friend?”, a guy to whom I really have known or to a man who is with me when I needed him. Does it have something to do with consistency? Is it some sort of proof that one of those people would make an effort for me in a bad situation?
UP High is a really good place to find more and more friends; friends who are really true and loyal in your relationship as friends. You may not see it through their appearances but when you distinguish already their true essence of becoming your friend, you can really say that they’re really are different from the others.
Now, I am residing as a Freshie of the UP High Cebu Campus in the Villamor class. I have numerous of friends even from the first day of classes and still, nowadays. You may be wondering if I have several friends, it is because in our class, the only means of having various pal is to start talking and chatting with them nicely. That’s why we have more friends even the Sophies, Juniors, Seniors or even the teachers are really pleasant to our whole class. And now, let me inform to you who my really “TRUE” friends are.

First in the list is Louanne.
Louanne is a beautiful and an understanding friend. Besides of her unbelievable insights, she is also an intelligent girl. She became my first friend in the class even though; she was not kind of friendly that time yet. I’m happy that right now she’s very blissful with her new friends and to her new career.
Danica is the next in my list. I consider her as my one and only best friend in the class. As sign of friendship, we prefer to call each other as “Bepestfrepend”. She’s a lovely and a smart girl. In addition to her qualities, she is also a very friendly and a sociable girl. Go Girl! Have a happy period!
Dan is the most open and the cheerful friend in my list. I remember in the first day of classes when he won as the most creative guy in the class in introducing ourselves. I actually enjoy going with him every time he goes to the Faculty Room everyday.
Helena is the toughest and the most frank among my friends. She has already told me her experiences with the people around her. She said that whenever she sees something wrong with the situation, she candidly suggests everything she wants.
Ernestine is one of the most attractive gals in my list. Actually, she was selected as the Ms. Intramurals 2006 in our batch. Like my best friend, we also rather to call ourselves as “Neighbors”. It doesn’t mean that our houses are close enough to see each other but as the best of close pals in the class.
Naressa is one of my bordering buddies in our class. She is a merry and a delightful friend. Also, she’s one of the members of the group called “Boalogz”.
Leejee is a gorgeous and also, a cheerful pal. She’s a small but a terrible girl because even though she’s not that kind of tall, I can say that she has an ability to attract boys only because of her nice qualities.
Chanel is the most quiet among my friends but even though, she’s a pleasant and a good buddy. We also call ourselves as “Syotas”. Know why? It came from our previous Math teacher who gave a meaning of MDAS which was the “May Dating Ang Syota”
Actually, I have a lot of friends but these guys really make me happy when I needed them. I consider them as one of my most trusted friends in the class. I really hope I could get more and more associates next school year. ^_^
See you next entry!!

Only God Knows....

Have you experienced of being worried about your family? This story of mine is about an appalling experience caused by a dreadful thing and brought the whole community into one of its biggest part. And now let me tell you about one of my most unforgettable experience.

It was a great day to start in the 7th day of March and I too was very keyed up to go to school and learn another lesson there. I was excited because a workshop is waiting for me and for the UPSTAGE team. They said that we’ll see a lot of foreigners if we’ll partake in the said activity. It was 3:00 PM when we reached at the Conference Hall to see the foreigners and get to know their company. Spending the whole afternoon with them is a really great cause to enjoy my entire day. In that activity, we learned to dance and got to know their own courses of their schools. There is a course in Digital Camera learning, course in professional dancing and many, many more.
The activity adjourned and I started to go back to our school. In that moment, I noticed a very huge smoke coming from an unidentified place which I happened to ignore. Few minutes later, my classmate asked me to go with him for a cause that he wants to buy food and he is hungry. When he saw the approachable smoke coming from a place, he began to ask the vendor near of where the gigantic smoke came from. She replied. She said that it a blaze of fire started in a place where called “Mantuyong, Mandaue City”. I was very dazed when I heard that word. It’s where I and my family are currently living in. I quickly called my grandmother. But there was no any sign which I never noticed. I was very anxious of what is happening in our place. I swiftly ran out the campus and rode a jeepney. Even in the Ayala Center, I wasted no time in every step that I make. When I got a ride, I started praying and hoping that m family would be fine in that time. Then suddenly, a woman asked me of what school do I came from. We embarked on many things that developed our being close. Then, she noticed my T-shirt which marks their company uniform. She initiated questions again of whose relative of mine owned that. I retorted that it came from my aunt. I was surprised when I knew that she is currently an officemate of my aunt. Since the vehicle had just stopped near the San Miguel Corporation Building which was near enough towards our home, we just decided to walk towards the danger zone. Just then I found out that the fire was starting just far enough to grasp our place. But when I go further on the place, I bared in my mind that it was too big that it get through near our place. In the middle of our pace, I have heard already the deafening sirens of the big fire trucks and the rowdy wails of the people seeing their own houses burning. I tried to locate my parents but I can’t. I also tried to find my brother and auspiciously I found him and he’s in safe hands. I tried to calm myself. Just then by that moment, I saw the very massive effect of the fire. They say that it was caused by a gas tank which exploded and resulted into a whopping glare of flame and wrecked up almost half the city. And the fire prolonged until it reached and burned again the main market. We were all nervous when it all suddenly came into darkness. By then, many people are still going to their burning houses and getting what things that they can afford to rescue. They said that it all ended only at 9:00 PM which made everyone settle down.
After the heart-breaking experience, all of us thanked God for saving our lives and also our properties. We also prayed to all who lost their properties and loved ones. We really are lucky that He still could give us a chance to live and get pleasure the most important thing that He gave to us, the LIFE.

Being taught by students

January 29, 2007
BE A UPIAN......
We conceitedly say that being a UP student is a stunning part of my life.
In the middle of our life being a Freshie, many tremendous experiences had just lately happened of course done by UPians. One of the most unsurpassed experiences here in UP was the (KYSD) Know Your School Day. This activity was very different from MY other experiences because this thing really let me strive hard in order to carry on my studies. This activity was made to give opportunity the diligent students who want to experience also what our cherished teachers do in order for us to swathe the unclothed knowledge of children, to TEACH.
Before the teachings began, the key of knowledge were passed to every student teacher it happen to belong. Our teachers were very pompous to introduce to students the new teachers. Each teacher was given ID so that we, pupils could recognize them.

And now prepare the step for our new teachers, proudly equipped for their new students the section, Villamor. We, students are very excited for our new lesson and of course to our up-to the -minute teachers now. They are teachers who want to let us learn another lesson as our everyday life as a student goes on and on. Also very overwhelmed because our original teachers can rest and when they come back they could say that their gorgeous students can already manage their position as a teacher.. Hehehe….Joke...We really had good times as a student with our brand new teachers. Even though, we students have difficult time discussing with our teachers because the fleet of disturbances came, our noisy classmates who were all the time very deafening all through the week, we really enjoyed the week. During the KYSD, great time with our teachers mount up again where we were all delighted by their creative minds in organizing our discussion.
Tired? Exhausted? These characteristics are not the natural attribute that our new teachers possessed during the day. Although a little bit, but generally the happy time with our teachers are very valuable to us.
"Test? We want games”, this is one of the hard things that we kept on denying to our new teachers. Fortunately, their golden hearts opened for us to enjoy another day of our student life, although some even say that they could just cause boring discussions in our class, many showed to us how important for them to those who are heartily listening in their made discussions. If only we could get trophies and awards for our honorable teachers but what we did was to applaud them heartily for a great job done!

Year 2007! Get ready! Get ready for the new student teachers to heat up again our minds. By that, we can really say that imagining and reminiscing the memories brought by our new teachers were very memorable and I think next year would be another year for us to enjoy more our life in our beloved school.
